In order to create a guest account for Marian's Canvas instance, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to marian.edu/canvas.
  2. Click the grey "I do not have an @marian.edu email account" button.
  3. If you have a Google account that you would like to use for this, click on the "Login with Google" option and then sign into your Google account to tie your Canvas account to your Google login. If you do not have a Google account, click on the "Need a Canvas Account?" link in the top right of the blue box.
  4. On the Register website, click "I'm a Teacher" (even if you are a student or potential student).
  5. Put your name and email address that you want to use to create your account, and agree to the Acceptable Use Policy.
  6. Click on Start Teaching.
  7. VERY IMPORTANT: You will be sent an email from Canvas to the email address you provided. You must check that and finish setting up your account (creating a password). If you do not, you will not be able to get back into your account.

Accessing your Canvas Guest account after its creation:

  1. Go to marian.edu/canvas.
  2. Click the grey "I do not have an @marian.edu email account" button.
  3. Login with your Google account or the email and password you set up.

What if I forget my password?

If you used Google, make sure you are putting in your Google password. If you forgot your Google password, go through Google's help in recovering your Google account.

If you used Canvas to create your email and password, click the Forgot Password? link on the login screen after Step 2.
